Renewable Energy

Energy is the cornerstone of sustained economic development and prosperity. With the global impact of climate change, rises in population and economic growth, the imperative for renewable energy has never been greater.

According to the EIA’s International Energy Outlook, global energy demand is expected to almost double by 2030. And considering that energy is the single largest producer of greenhouse gases, the opportunities for renewable energies are great and many countries have the potential for vast renewable energy capabilities.

Today, more than 66 countries have renewable energy policy targets to meet. The Australian government has set a target of 20 percent by 2020, which will see one-fifth of Australia’s electricity generated from renewable sources including the wind, sun and tides.

RESA has recognised that the future of energy rests with cleaner energy production. Our proven solutions are sustainable, efficient and economically viable, with little environmental impact.

Interesting facts

  • Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources - such as sun, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat - which are renewable.

  • Recent interest in renewable energy development is linked to concerns about greenhouse gases and depletion of fossil fuels.

  • Renewable energy can never run out. While the supplies of coal, oil and natural gas are limited, sunshine, wind and tides will always be around.

  • According to Alliant Energy, enough sunlight falls on the earth's surface every hour to meet world energy demand for an entire year.

  • The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) believes that renewable energy can power the world in 40 years. It believes the world can get 80% of its power from renewable sources by 2050.

  • Wind power contributed to 2% of global electricity demand in 2009. It is expected to increase to more than 20% by 2050.
